Petra & Garth

are getting married!

September 1st 2022 | 13.00

The Story so far

What started as an intriguing yarn led to 3 dates in 24 hours. What occurred over the next few years was many trips and adventures around Europe, a journey to Garth’s homeland of New Zealand and the addition of a loveable puppy Awhi.

In 2019 we dreamed up a life together in New Zealand, packing our bags and making it a reality in early 2021. Just before making the move, Garth got on one knee and proposed in our favourite park in Prague. Soon after we discovered that there was actually four of us making the move together.

We settled in Tairua and on August 27th we welcomed our beautiful daughter Eda Augustine Powell into our family.

And now, after nearly two years of obstacles, restrictions and border closures, we are finally getting married and would love to celebrate our wedding and welcome Eda into this world, together with our friends and family.

Ceremony will take place at Petřín Gardens on Thursday 1st of September 2022 at 1 PM (we will share the precise location with you).

The party will take place at a place very close to our hearts – at Holešovická šachta, starting at 3 PM.

We recommend taking tram n 12 to get from Petřín to Holešovice, you’ll avoid the traffic and will be there in no time.

For our overseas and out of town guests, please let us know if you need any help or advice when booking accommodation in Prague, we are more than happy to help.

Dress Code

“Something borrowed, nothing new.”

We are not fans of complicated dress codes and unnecessary outfit purchases. We want you to feel your best. Keep in mind that the ceremony in the park might be hot but then the evening might get chilly so make sure you have some warm layers at the ready.

Plus ones and children

Just in case we haven’t clarified this when sending the invite – plus ones and children are more than welcome! (there will be entertainment and baby sitting for kids).

Your presence at our wedding is the most important present and we are not expecting anything else. However if you wish to follow with tradition and purchase a gift, a donation towards our little family adventures would be gratefully accepted. Sadly we can’t accept any physical gifts as we have no way of getting them back to our home in New Zealand, so please just keep that in mind.

Please kindly let us know via email ( ) or a message whether you can attend.

Looking forward to seeing you all to celebrate our love and new life!
